Hippo was brought in by his previous owner on August 2, 2022.

Meet Hippo! Hippo is a bit of a shy guy and is still getting used to human companionship. Hippo does have an abnormal gait, and some difficulty walking. We believe it is because he has a Vitamin C deficiency, so he would need to be kept on a Vitamin C supplement indefinitely. We know that once he adjusts, he will blossom into a wonderful guinea pig! Guinea pigs, like Hippo, need large enclosures with a lot of ground space (8 square feet) to run around and stay healthy. An easy and inexpensive way to give your guinea pig a DIY palace is called a C&C fleece lined cage (google it!). Hippo will need unlimited timothy hay to munch on, extra space to run around in, and toys to keep him active and enriched! Healthy greens, veggies, and pellets are also an essential part of his diet, as well as a daily dose of vitamin C!
