How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan.
At SDHS: Meet Winston! This friendly boy would love to find a forever home with another male piggie that he can be bff's with! Guinea pigs are incredibly social animals who need to be kept in pairs to thrive. Guinea pigs need a lot of ground space to run around and stay healthy. Two guinea pigs will need a minimum of 10 sq feet of space (more is better!) to call home. An easy and inexpensive way to give your pigs a DIY piggy palace is called a C&C fleece lined cage (google it!). Guinea pigs need lots of daily timothy hay to munch on, extra space to run around in, and toys to keep them active and enriched! Healthy greens and veggies are also an essential part of their diet, as well as a daily dose of vitamin C in the form of a supplement or a slice of bell pepper! If you'd like to learn more about adding Winston to your family, come on down to the San Diego campus!
