I've been adopted!

How this pet arrived:
Biscuit was brought in by his previous owner.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Biscuit! Biscuit is a precious fluff ball who is looking for his next adventure in life. Biscuit may need a bit of time to decompress, as he does start off a little bit shy. Chinchillas are lovely critters who require very specialized care. They can live up to twenty years, so bringing one home is quite the commitment! These guys need a large multi-level cage(at least five feet tall), where they can run and jump during their awake hours - which, being nocturnal, are mostly at night. They will also need a large (14-16 inches tall) wheel to exercise, dust baths about 3x a week, and daily time spent outside of their cage for enrichment. Chinchilla do best in pairs, so if you have a single male chinchilla at home, we recommend doing some research on proper bonding techniques before bringing this fella home. Chinchillas are VERY sensitive to temperature, so their ideal room temperature is between 60-72 degrees. In warmer months, they will need a granite or metal cooling slab that they can relax on. The most important part of their diet is timothy hay and pellets. Chinchillas have sensitive stomachs and should not be fed treats or human food! We recommend doing plenty of research on Chinchillas and having everything set up before bringing Biscuit home. If you're interested in learning more, ask about Biscuit today!
