Why this pet is the one for you: Hello! This is Blerp! Blerp is a sweet lil' red-eared slider looking for a home of her own. Red-eared sliders can up to 20+ years in captivity with proper care, as their average lifespan in the wild is 30! The general rule of thumb for proper slider tanks is 10 gallons per inch of the turtle's shell. Red-eared sliders grow to be about 12 inches in diameter and will need at least a 120 gallon tank full grown that provides a space for swimming and a space for land dwelling as Blerp is semi-aquatic. Red-eared sliders are omnivores so she will need a plant and meat based diet. Often turtles eat small fish such as comets or minnows, even bugs such as mealworms. We recommend doing lots of research before bringing home a pet like Blerp. If you are interested in adopting this little turtle, stop by our San Diego Campus today!
