How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan on January 7, 2021.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and given extra care by our medical team. This pet is now ready for their new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Otis Krawdad! Otis Krawdad is looking for a human who is familiar with his breed and behavior traits. The German Shepherd personality is aloof and they don't always make friends immediately, but once they do, they're extremely loyal! German Shepherds are a highly intelligent breed and thrive on having a job to do. If they are not receiving the companionship and exercise they need, they may become bored, and boredom usually leads to some less than desirable behaviors (i.e. barking, chewing, escaping). In our care, Otis Krawdad has been friendly and treat motivated which will help with continuing his positive reinforcement training! Otis lacks impulse control and will need help learning how to be calm in new situations. He is a STRONG boy and will benefit from proper walking tools. We recommend a sturdy front-clipping harness for strong pullers like him. Due to these behaviors, Otis would do best in adult-only home. Are you enthusiastic about training? Are you looking for an active buddy? For more information on whether Otis Krawdad is the pup for you, please make an appointment with our adoptions team today!
