Why this pet is the one for you:
We don't like to pick favorites at SDHS, but Walt has really captured our hearts! Albino rabbits are often overlooked, but we are determined to let the world know how wonderful this boy is! Walt is a very social and outgoing bunny who greets us every morning by hopping over to us and asking for pets. He craves human attention, and would love to be the apple of someone's eye! When he's exploring in our exercise area Walt is so happy that he goes crazy with zoomies and bunny binkies! He will practically climb in your lap for a few pets and cilantro! Walt, like all rabbits, will need a large x-pen/playpen like enclosure with at least 12 square feet of room to stretch out. Rabbits are very easy to litter-box train, and Walt has been doing great with this at the shelter! His previous owner stated he would probably do best as an only bunny as he doesn't seem to like competition. Walt will also need plenty of daily time to explore outside of his pen and hang with his human! Rabbits are intelligent and complex animals who do well in families with humans who understand that they are prey animals, and do not enjoy being held/picked up. The best way to bond with Walt is to sit with him with him outside of his pen, and shower him with greens! Since rabbits need so much space and aren't easy to hold they aren't an ideal "starter pet". Rabbits usually do best with older children who can respect their boundaries. He may not enjoy being held, but Walt adores spending quality time with his humans. We would love to find him a home where he will have plenty of space to stretch out, and interact with his family on a daily basis. I'm sure you see now why Walt is one of our favorite bunnies! If you'd like to be blessed by his sweet presence too, book an appointment today!
