How this pet arrived: Mumsie was brought in by her previous owner on November 7, 2021.
Why this pet is the one for you: This is Mumsie! Rabbits, like Mumsie, are intelligent and complex animals who do well in families with humans who understand that they are prey animals, and do not enjoy being picked up or held. The best way to bond with her is to spend time with her on the floor, and shower her with plenty of greens and Timothy hay! She is a domestic rabbit and we recommend that adopters keep her indoors. The nice thing about having indoor rabbits is that they can come out of their cage for bunny playtime, in a rabbit proof area of the home. It's during this supervised playtime that rabbits often exhibit some of their most fun and interesting behaviors! Mumsie will need a large enclosure with free roaming time (bigger is always better). Mumsie would love a family who will interact with her daily to keep her active and social! Mumsie was found to have a heart murmur and a slightly enlarged heart during her medical exam, so she may need additional veterinary care in the future. Ask an Adoption Counselor to learn more!
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2): Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease affecting rabbits. Due to its presence in San Diego County, all rabbits will receive a mandatory RHDV2 vaccine before adoption. Guests will be charged $12 for this vaccine upon adoption.
