How this pet arrived:
Pumpkin Snickerdoodle was rescued by the Humane Law Enforcement Team on September 26, 2021.

Why this pet is the one for you:
You're not seeing things, these are rabbits not kitties! Pumpkin Snickerdoodle, Lemon Lavender Shortbread, and Fresh Balsam are French Angora rabbits! This breed is considered a large breed and can weigh up to 10.5lbs. They also require daily brushings to keep their long, wooly fur looking its best! Their coat can reach up to 6inches in length, but should ideally be kept at about 2-3inches, which means their coat needs to be sheared 3-4 times a year. Did you know that rabbits are easy to litter box train? Well, they are! Contrary to popular belief, rabbits are not cage animals so they need a lot of space! These boys will need a large exercise pen to call home as well as plenty of daily time to explore roam their household, and hang with their humans. Domesticated rabbits are delicate animals who are very sensitive to outdoor elements, so they do best as indoor pets. Rabbits do best in families that understand that they are prey animals, and do not enjoy being held or picked up. The best way to bond with them is on their level (and on their terms). If you'd like to adopt this Trio, ask an adoption counselor about them today!

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2):
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease affecting rabbits. Due to its presence in San Diego County, all rabbits will receive a mandatory RHDV2 vaccine before adoption. Guests will be charged $12 for this vaccine upon adoption.
