Francis #832788
Mississippi Map Turtle/Mix
Female  |  4Yrs 8Mths 2Wks (approx)  |  682 g
Adoption Fee: $30.00

How this pet arrived:
Francis was brought in by a Good Samaritan on August 10th, 2022.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Francis! Francis is a Mississippi Map Turtle! Mississippi Map Turtle's like Francis need a large enclosure that can hold a lot of water; a female like Francis will need at least 125 gallons of water space. She will need a powerful filtration system, as living in dirty water will make her prone to infections and disease. She will also need a basking area so she can get her rays! She would do best if the temperature of the water is kept around 85 degrees; if it falls below 60, she will become lethargic and may go into hibernation. If housed inside, Francis will need supplemental UVA/UVB lighting (12 hours a day, year round!), as well as heat lamps. Francis enjoys aquatic turtle pellets, but is also a big fan of leafy greens like romaine lettuce and dandelion greens. Do some research in regards to feeding routines! Mississippi Map Turtles also do best with minimal human handling, and prefer to just be admired. Francis did come into our care with a damaged shell that had algae growing on it; we would recommend you follow up with your regular vet upon adoption. If you think you can give this girl the home she deserves, come on down to Oceanside today!

Color: Brown / Green
Spayed/Neutered: No

My adoption fee includes a certificate for a free veterinary exam!
