Why this pet is the one for you:
Megan is a beautiful Collie mix who can be initially shy, but quickly warms up to become a spunky, energetic girl with a zest for life! Her absolute favorite thing in the world is going on walks where she can sniff, explore, and feel the grass beneath her belly. She also loves to swim, she knows "Sit" and "Lie Down", and she is partially housetrained. Megan is also adorably cute with her best human friends - she'll lean into petting and will even crawl into laps to demand attention!

Megan has spent time at our Behavior Center in order to learn how to work through her shy/fearfulness and develop greater comfort and confidence with necessary handling. Her new family should be able and willing to read her body language and give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable. Because Megan also has lots of energy, she is recommended to be adopted into an active household with adults only, or with older children (16+). Megan can get overstimulated in hectic environments and sometimes even when going for walks. She will need a calm, quiet home that can limit her stress, manage her space, and keep her under her threshold. She may be able to live with another dog, but an introduction is required on-site, prior to adoption, in order to ensure that she'll be successful with the other pup. She is not recommended to go home with kitties.
