Why this pet is the one for you:
Peter came to SDHS as a transfer from Louisiana, prior to Hurricane Laura. He has been a sweet, friendly fellow since his arrival! He loves to play with toys, lean into his favorite people for attention and petting, and eat the yummiest treats around - hot dogs and cheese! Peter is also Heartworm Positive and is currently undergoing treatment to get him healthy again. During this treatment, he needs to be kept calm and quiet. In his new home, Peter will continue to require no STRENUOUS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY until your veterinarian gives him a clean bill of health. Prior to adoption, you will be given a medical care plan to follow up with the SDHS San Diego Veterinary Department to continue Peter's treatment. Once he is released from light duty, Peter promises to show you his boundless energy and affection for years to come!
