Meet Amberjack! The pint-size pittie [pittipotamus] with a heart of gold! Amberjack came to us as a mama dog with 5 pups, and after doing an amazing job raising her beautiful babies, she's now ready to find her very own home! AJ was pretty shy & shut down at the shelter, but now that she's in a loving foster home she is already starting to blossom! She ADORES spending time with her new best doggie friend that lives in the home, and is becoming more & more comfortable with attention from her human friends daily. She also loves long walks on the beach - she's a perfect southern Cali gal! Ideally, AJ would love to go to a home with another friendly, mellow dog to hang out with, to help show her that the world isn't so scary. Her foster mom loves to see her smile and says that AJ will be "such a gem for a family because she's so easy!" AJ will need time to settle in to her new home, but once you get to know this sweet girl we know you will fall in love!

How I arrived: I was transferred from another shelter on October 1, 2017.

At SDHS: I have been micro-chipped, vaccinated and spayed. I'm in foster care, but I am ready to go home with you!

Why I am the one for you: My Personality Color Code is Blue; meaning I'm Bashful...Shy...Introverted...Timid...and Coy! I'm a sweet gal looking for a calm, compassionate home that will continue my positive reinforcement training. My favorite food is yogurt! Because I can be shy, I'd do best in an adult-only home that understands boundaries & body language. If you have another pup, I'd love to meet them before we go home together.
