Why this pet is the one for you: This handsome face belongs to Tex! Tex was voted best looking in his shelter class this week and it shows. He came into our care under unfortunate circumstances and is taking his time to warm up to the new environment and people. His parents told him all about stranger danger and he takes it very seriously. Tex has been working hard with our Behavior team and staff on his continued socialization and positive reinforcement training! He would like to continue this training in the home. Our Behavior team is looking forward to speaking with you prior to adopting to go over his history and behavior management moving forward. Tex is looking to live in an adult-only environment with humans that respect and look out for his boundaries. He has shown some reactivity to dogs and strangers while in our care, so we are hoping that his new home will be calm and quiet with minimal foot traffic to help with his stress level. Tex is looking for a knowledgeable and experienced adopter to help him live his best life outside of the shelter. Shepherds are intelligent and determined pups who do well with structure and routine. Tex is a pup that knows what he wants, so he has been known to vocalize his needs and desires. Our team is happy to go over some tips for managing this behavior in the home. While in our care, he has made friends with his caregivers and welcomes new friends as long as they come bearing gifts. Once comfortable, Tex is a goofy and lovable guy. He enjoys spending time outside, playing with his favorite toys, and seeking pets from his humans! If you think Tex might be a good fit for your home, speak with an Adoption Counselor today!
